Moulded pulp: Tailwinds from the legislation?: How PPWR, SUPD, EUDR have impacted/will impact on moulded pulp packaging markets?
Moulded pulp can be considered as a viable alternative to rigid plastics used in foodservice and consumer packaging as it can offer advanced design features along with renewability, recyclability and/or composability. However, certain additives and treatments that are used to bring up functionality of moulded pulp may be a subject of restrictions in upcoming legislation or render material to be considered as “single-use plastic product”. This presentation will look on the moulded pulp in contemporary legislative context as well as will examine some of the broader topics related to end-of-life, such as recyclability and compostability.
